1st Meet

Now, we have a new assignment that take around 2 month to do it. That is by a group of 3 people, we need to built a bamboo dome that can float our group(3 people). Then we need to prefabricated our material and can be assemble in 30min. So the first step we do is meeting with my group member a have a rough idea on what we wan built.

The Dome

In order for us to understand more about form and space, we had given an assignment to built a dome by using a bamboo stick.. This is a very interesting assignment to me as i never built any structure before. However, we need to solve a problem first in order to built this dome, that is 'what we need to use to stick the satay stick together?' After a few experiment, we decide to use masking tape to stick the satay stick.

First, we need to measure the length of the stick we want.

Then we need to cut it.

To built a 2V dome, i need two type of stick, one is 10.9cm and another one is 12.4cm.

Next start to stick the bamboo satay stick.

Finally, I have built my own dome!

Virtual Construction

This is the first assignment of our course RAG 132 Built Environment and Human Settlement. In the first class, we learn about production. There got 6 element in a production that is Intention, Act, Product, Actor, Rule and Place.In this assignment, we need to use image of our hometown to elaborate more about the six elements in production. Thus, I decided to use the images of a construction site in penang to show my understanding about the six elements.

This is a sign board of the construction. In this board we can know the people that work in this construction project. The element of this picture is People.

In this image, we can see a few worker doing their work to built the house. The element is Acting

The above images show some of the step taken to built a house. This is what we mean the Rule.

This beautiful house in the image above is the result of the construction project. The element is Product. Besides, from this image we can also know the Intention of this construction project, that is to produce a more beautiful and comfortable house to the people.

The whole construction project take place in a place that call Palm Garden, situated in Juru, Butterwoth, Penang. So the element that show in this image is Place.

In conclusion, we need to have 6 elements in order to produce a production.
